Speak Up Sister

Bring Your Charisma—Lead with Real Connection

You know how to light up a room — but what if your magnetic energy could inspire true connection? Speak Up Sister helps you harness your natural flair while grounding your voice in authenticity and meaning. It’s time to step into your spotlight with confidence that’s bold and real.

Ever worry that people notice your sparkle but miss the real you? Or worry you come off “all style, no substance”? That tension between shining bright and being deeply understood stops here. You can have both – charisma and connection.

I’ve met so many dynamic, talented women—absolute powerhouses achieving amazing things—who quietly admit how much they struggle with confidence when it’s time to truly speak up.

It’s not about lacking skill or sparkle; in fact, you might be the one who always “lights up the room.” But sometimes, that very charisma can feel like a mask—leaving you wondering, Did they really hear ME? Did I actually connect, or was it just a show?

Here’s the truth: confidence isn’t the issue of capability. It’s about feeling seen for who you are, not just how you perform.

And while passion, drive, and expertise matter, real success means showing up as your whole self. Genuine, memorable impact happens when your energy and presence shine with authenticity. That might look like:

Leading teams with both clarity and vulnerability

  • Making real connections at networking events (not just working the room)
  • Pitching ideas or clients with the substance—and the stories—only you can share
  • Sharing and listening in ways that invite others to open up, too
  • Creating content that’s honest, not just attention-grabbing
  • Presenting and introducing speakers in ways that inspire truly meaningful conversations
  • Giving speeches that spark not just applause—but real resonance

On and on – the opportunities keep coming.

No matter your brilliance or achievements, when you blend your signature energy with honest, grounded confidence, you unlock the potential for true connection every time you speak up. Your impact multiplies – because you’re being seen, heard, and felt, not just watched.

Let’s move beyond the performance. Step up, bring your full self, and let audiences experience the real you. That’s when your results soar.

But here’s the best news!

Jenny Wynter - Speak Up Sister

Speaking with impact isn’t a gift you’re either born with or not. Sure, some people step into the world ready to command attention – but most of us have to learn how to transform our energy into real connection.

That’s the beauty of Speak Up Sister: it’s not about turning you into an actor or comedian (unless you want to unleash that spark!) but about equipping you with the powerful tools performers use to shine – and, importantly, to genuinely connect, and be heard.

This isn’t just about “putting on a show” – it’s about learning how presence, calm, friendliness, and true confidence can help you break through the surface and create moments that matter. When you combine your unique spark with practical performer techniques, you’ll discover how to draw people in – not just as an audience, but as fellow humans you connect with for real.

You can absolutely make this shift. And I’m right here to help you move beyond performance to authentic, memorable communication – every single time you speak up.

Hi, I’m Jenny Wynter – and for nearly two decades, I’ve been living my dream as a professional stand-up comedian.

Jenny Wynter in a blue sequinned dress on a yellow spotlight background

This isn’t just a side passion – it’s my full-time work. I’ve been lucky enough to light up stages across Australia, the US, Canada, the UK, and even in international waters! But honestly? The moments I cherish most aren’t just about laughs or applause – they’re when someone tells me, “It felt like you were really speaking to me.” That’s the magic that happens when genuine connection meets performance.

I also happen to be a two-time TEDx speaker (one talk was completely improvised – live, on the spot!). People often ask me, “How do you do that? Isn’t that terrifying?” Honestly, yes – and I thrive on it! But what I’ve learned over the years is that the real superpower isn’t about being fearless or always “on.” It’s about two core things:

a) Embracing the performer’s mindset – bringing energy, openness, and presence to every interaction;
b) Relying on a set of practical, proven techniques that help me get out of my own head, stay grounded in the moment, and show up with heart – before, during, and after every gig.

These aren’t just stage tricks – they’re the keys that help me sidestep self-doubt, bring my real self to the spotlight, and keep growing after every experience. They’ve made all the difference in my career – not just for creating unforgettable moments, but for forging real connections.

And here’s the thing: you don’t have to aspire to comedy, performance, or the stage to make these tools work for you. When you combine a performer’s energy with the intention to connect authentically, everything changes. You’ll discover how to be seen and remembered – not just for your charisma, but for the real message and connection you deliver every time you speak up.

Week by week from Day 1

1 Foundations

Set the stage for growth by uncovering why even the most charismatic people sometimes feel disconnected. We’ll clarify the difference between “being watched” and “being heard”—helping you name your unique motivations, obstacles, and what authentic connection means for you as a performer.

2 Mindset

Tap into the power of self-awareness. Here, you’ll unpack your internal performer dialogue, discover how vulnerability (even slip-ups or stumbles) can create powerful moments of truth, and learn to shift from impressing an audience to genuinely relating.

3 Agility and spontaneity

True performers connect by staying present. You’ll learn not just how to adapt and think on your feet, but how to invite the audience in—moving beyond memorization to real-time reactions and heartfelt responses. Presence becomes your superpower.

4 Nerves and fear busting

Transform nerves from a mask to a messenger. Instead of fighting anxiety, you’ll build self-trust and strategies to show up as your boldest and most real self. Discover calming practices that help you funnel energy into connection before, during, and after you speak.

5 Hard skills

Develop core tools—dynamic posture, expressive gestures, and compelling vocal variety—not for show, but to support clarity and authenticity. With repeatable techniques, you’ll align your body language and delivery with who you really are, building trust as well as attention.

6 Doomsday preparation

Connection thrives when you can navigate the unexpected. We’ll explore real-life challenges (awkward silences, tough questions, “off” days) and co-create your plan for responding—not by pushing through with a mask, but by anchoring back into authenticity and composure.

And if that isn’t enough, there’s additional

Here comes the science

Stand-up comedy teaches you to connect with your audience: Performers have to engage their audience to be successful. They need to make their audience laugh and keep them engaged throughout their performance. This means they have to be able to read their audience and adjust their material accordingly. Learning how to connect with an audience is a crucial part of public speaking, and studying stand-up comedy can help you develop this skill. (Reference: Hambrick, D. C., & Amabile, T. M. (1996). Measuring creativity: The relevance of craft versus art. Academy of Management Journal, 39(2), 396-416.)

Performing teaches you to think on your feet: Stand-up comedians have to be able to think on their feet and come up with witty responses to unexpected situations. This means they have to be quick-witted and adaptable, which are essential skills for public speaking. Learning how to improvise and adapt to unexpected situations can help you become more confident in your ability to handle any situation that might arise during a speech. (Reference: Puccio, G. J., & Cabra, J. F. (2010). Applied creativity: An introduction. Creative Education Foundation Press.)

Stand-up comedy teaches you to use humour effectively: Performers are experts in using humour to connect with their audience and make their material more engaging. Learning how to use humour effectively can help you become a more engaging speaker and build rapport with your audience. Humour can also be an effective tool for dealing with nerves and reducing anxiety during public speaking. (Reference: Martin, R. A. (2007). The psychology of humor: An integrative approach. Elsevier Academic Press.)

Stand-up comedy teaches you to take risks: Stand-up comedians have to be willing to take risks with their material and try new things. They need to be willing to experiment and take chances in order to find what works best for them. Learning how to take risks can help you become more confident in your ability to take on new challenges and try new things in your public speaking. (Reference: Kaufman, J. C., & Beghetto, R. A. (2009). Beyond big and little: The four c model of creativity. Review of General Psychology, 13(1), 1-12.)
